Title: New "brand" of cordless tools from Harbor Freight
Post by: mdsalemi on March 19, 2018, 14:46:30
Not a day goes by when I don't get a mailing, see an ad, or get an email (to the point that it all becomes "noise") from our friends at Harbor Freight. As many of you agree, it's hit or miss with many of their tools.

I was there buying scaffolding to do a painting job in our home yesterday, and saw their new-ish line of cordless tools, branded "Bauer". Such as this:

Wow, what a huge difference over their older "Chicago" brand electric tools--a substantial quality difference. You can't tell from the catalog listing but if you see it in person you'd know. They had, in the store, a 1/2" drill; 1/2" hammer drill; impact driver. Batteries were just $20.  Each drill "kit" came with a battery, and each drill kit cost more than one battery for my Bosch drills...

If you find yourself at one of the stores, don't forget to take a look at these drills. If I needed any, this would probably be high on the list.

I have the Hercules combo drill which is a sister to the Bauer. Yes...amazing difference from the old Chicago line! I think Harbor Freight is trying to upgrade certain lines. Here is another gem that I have. If you can find a coupon, you can get it for $19.99

and it is super bright and charges with a USB port.

...I have the Hercules combo...

I think the Hercules is a step above the Bauer...both still are reasonably priced and much higher quality than some of their past products.
