Title: Painting hubcaps
Post by: Peter on March 07, 2018, 20:08:38
I have now twice painted my hubcaps, but the quality is not good enough.
Does someone knows an experienced hubcap painter in the Netherlands, Belgium or Germany?

Thanks for help, Peter

What paint did you use and how’d you do it?

I used same paint as for the body, 420 HS Lesonal 2k.

First I taped, than first Lesonal (Akzo Nobel) Etch primer 1k, when dry, 420 HS Lesonal 2k. Tape is taken off when paint is still wet.

My painter was faced with the same challenge. I gave him a stencil for the star which he tried using but abandoned in favor of tape. He ran into trouble on the clear coat. He said if he was able to use lacquer it would have been a cleaner and easier job.
