Title: 230SL wheel questions...
Post by: Eryck on January 04, 2005, 10:17:25
I understand that the 230 hub caps are comprised of two pieces. Mine's a 1965 230 but came with only the smaller hub caps without the chrome rim on the outside. It's looks pretty weird without it and I am trying to make it right. Does anyone know what the outer chrome rings are called and are they readily available?

I saw some one piece hubcaps for sale but believe tht they are for later models (280's) and do not want to spoil the 'period' look of my car. Thanks in advance for your kind advices.

Hey Eryck,
I bought a new set of 4 from an eBay seller last year. They look great on the car.

Be aware that they have separate clips for attaching to the wheel rims. Each wheel has about 5 clips.
I re-used my existing ones.

I think SLs in Germany sells them.

Alternatey they are available from MB. Make sure you are sitting down when you are given the prices.
