The email blast to full members got sent out today by Peter van Es.
The latest issue of Pagoda Notes is ready to be read!
Hans Strom's presentation at PUB - Virginia on how to care for your windshield wipers, and Ralph Neely's experience with getting his car certified to the MB Club of America Silver Star program.
Hope you enjoy it.

Note - the adjustment screw referenced in the article about wiper maintenance is incorrectly placed. It should be point to the screw just to the left and up, in the picture, with the slot for adjustment visible. This is Figure 5.
I have update the article and am sending it to Peter van Es to get the one on the site update.
Sorry for the confusion.

When I saw it, I thought it was wrong.

I posted too fast.
The nut is about 10mm, you loosen it and slide the arm up or down in the slot, depending on how you want the arm set.

Perhaps I am wrong, but both of these screws are important for adjustment, please correct me if I am wrong.
I just went through it a few weeks ago. Of course I marked all the shafts and levers locations vs. each other, etc. before disassmbling. When I put it all back together, it did not work. The wipers started from parking in the opposite way than they should for a short moment, then they were going to the direction where they were supposed to go. Trying to adjust lever length did not help.
I started looking at it and I figured:
- for the wipers to start in the right direction (without moving back a bit and then forward), the upper end of the motor shaft lever (the end connected to push rod) has to be in its highest (TDC) point when engine is in park; I got there by unscrewing this nut marked previously on Fig. 5, taking off the lever and screwing it back on
- then by experiment I figured that the length of the lever (adjusted by the second screw you are talking about) is for wipers travel adjustment
They are both for adjustments, actually, I think.
Again, please correct me if this is wrong, but this is how I got my wipers work right...

I will let Hans reply to this thread regarding the screw adjustment.

The new version is now the one you download...

Just as Pawel writes, the basic adjustment after having the motor out is to set the cranking lever in the correct position. The crank and lever arm must form a straight line when in resting position, see image attached.
