Title: Indicator 280SL 1970 yr model
Post by: 280slPagoda on December 18, 2017, 17:07:57
Is the indicator (blinker, turn signal level) for 280SL 1970 yr model common with or also used on any other Mercedes model?

It is W113 only.
Your PN is A0025452924. They were different for 230 and 250SL.
It had been discussed on this forum, also ways of modifications (unsuccessful, as I recall).

Nope. :-X

The A002 545 2924 is
unique to the late 250 SL and 280 SL.

No interchange with others.
A 230 SL stalk (A001 545 5524) could be used as 'parts donor'. Same basic setup, only the dimensions of the chrome stalk is different.

Get yours repaired. They're too expensive new (€€545.00).

Achim,
A thousand thanks. You saved me from searching something that is not available.
Best regards,
Lars

Lars,
You're welcome.
These can be repaired, especially when the only problem is that the stalk/arm doesn't hold in the right-turn direction anymore. Only two rivets inside the basement block are worn out and can be exchanged by 2.5 mm bolts.
Please search the website here. This has long ago been described how to do.

Contact me off-line per PN please for a German version; I am afraid I do not have any English printout of this procedure anymore.

Best,
Achim

Only MB could make a turn signal switch that was only used on a very small run of cars when something already in use would have worked just as well.

Exactly. I'm wondering what it would take to adapt a late W108 one on a late 280SL. Mine has the plastic broken.
