Title: 280SL Interior Cover
Post by: rbouch8828 on December 02, 2017, 04:15:19
I am looking for a source for an interior only cover for my 280SL. I noticed that some of you had mentioned this source before:

https://www.carcoversdirect.com/parts/interior-covers/cars/51167_45300/materials/307

They don't list the year 1970, which is my 280SL's year. They do include the year for the 250SL. I wouldn't think there would be any difference in a cover for either the 250SL or the 280SL interior. Anyone see any issues?

Keep in mind that the 280SL has headrests and the 250SL doesn't.

I think the headrests on the 280 SL started in 1970?
Mine is a 1968 and has none.

Car Cover World is telling me that they support the 280SL with their interior cover, so I will give them a call tomorrow to order one. I'll make sure I can return it if it doesn't fit.

Don’t know the start date, but my Jan 1969 has the headrests.  VIN........007749.

Our headrest guru Achim typed:
"The first 280 SL which received HR was serial no. 004052."

I was able to order one from Car Cover World:

Covercraft Custom Fit Interior Cover: Weathershield HP Taupe | 1970 Mercedes-Benz 280SL

I had to do it by phone, because the on-line system doesn't show it and the salesperson said that it only shows up for certain types, like the Weathershield version.
