Title: Seeking a competent W113 mechanic SF Bay Area (or thereabouts)
Post by: anubis on September 15, 2017, 22:39:06
Folks --
I am in the process of installing a new gas tank into my 67 250SL, running new lines, etc and the closer I get to completion,
the more I feel like I should take the car into an experienced mechanic who can give it a once over before starting it up - it
has not been started in some time, and although I did drain the fluids back then, and have read up on various measures to take
before starting it up again, I'd like to at least have someone who is familiar with our cars, and appreciates them, standing by and
perhaps offering some useful oversight and guidance.

If anyone with a W113 who lives in/around the SF Bay Area has a mechanic they know, trust and can recommend ?

Appreciate any suggestions or referrals ...

Cordially,

anubis

I use Zoli's Auto in San Jose.  It's a one man shop, but Steve is a factory trained mechanic and is really good with older Mercedes (408) 638-7174.  There was a shop in Walnut Creek that was good.  A while ago I kept a spreadsheet of local owners, and shops.  Send me a pm and I'll send it to you.

Info sent.

If there are other northern California owners out there that want to get connected please send me a pm and I will add you to my list and share it around.

If you need SF specific, I'd recommend John Gardiner Automotive, 351 Valencia St, San Francisco, CA 94103,  (415) 777-2697  If a little distance is not an issue, then Morris Motors, 14176 CA-160, Walnut Grove, CA 95690, (916) 776-2600  Both are excellent, competent shops.

This is quite helpful, and thank you all for contributing.
I knew there were shops with mechanics who are dialed into
our Pagodas, and who would be able to work on them without
utilizing them as a learning curve ...

Thanks, sincerely.
