Does anyone know what the correct sealant is for the upper oil pan? I see Mercedes Sealing Compound Engine Oil Pan REINZOSIL, available on Amazon. Is anyone familiar with that product? Or, is there a better choice?
Many thanks,
Roland

I've been using Permatex gray.
-
I use Welseal

I use Toyota FIPIG(Formed in place gasket) which is very similar to Yamabond and Permatex Grey. After seeing so many Toyota engines with no leaks I figured they have it figured out.

Thank you to all! It seems like there are a number of options. When I looked on Amazon there was called REINZOSIL that listed a range of Mercedes, but didn't show the older ones, so I thought that there were very specific sealants, but it looks like that isn't the case.
Many thanks,
Roland

I use weasel **** on all kinds of stuff. Some people call it anti-seize.
Oh.........I see now. You use Weseal.
Sorry about that Stick..........

At a local parts store I found the Permatex Grey, so I'll give it a try!
Thanks to all,

Actually Dan, I meant to type "Wellseal"!

As opposed to Unwellseal (when it's eaten a dodgy bit of fish )

You have to hand it to the Brits with their keen sense of the English language. Almost as good as Canadian self deprecating sarcastic humour...........
When asked by a national poll to fill in this sentence, As Canadian as_______________.
They received everything from:
ice
hockey
snow
maple leaf
moose
beaver
eh
aboot
Canada Goose
And the winner was.............
As Canadian as possible, considering the circumstances.
