Title: TV "Ultimate car" series featuring W113
Post by: mbzse on December 15, 2004, 04:42:45
On Discovery Channel there is a series named "ultimate cars" in ten 30 min. programmes. I have seen some of these, and there are several W113 pictures flickering by during the introduction. Does anyone know in which part of these ten programs that the W113 is featured? :?:

According to the Discovery Channel website, the series was on The Science Channel and ended December 1.  They don't list any plans to re-air it.  However, with the crying need for programming on all of these channels, it is bound to turn up somewhere sooner or later.

You are very right. This is interesting. I now find Discovery is very local, and airs differently in different countries. New to me.
Found the cars listed

and it seems 300SL is there, and 540K as well as 600 - but, alas, not our W113's. So, was just some pictures in the intro. well, well

Hi Hans. I stumbled across this program last weekend (here on Dutch cable) and, since they did show the W113 in several fragments while they were counting down for "the best rally car" I expected the Pagoda to be in the list of 5 of the world's "best convertibles". That list started with the '65 (or so) Mustang, then showed a massive fintailed Cadillac, onto I believe the Ferrari Daytona convertible, on no. 2 a car I can't recall, finally to label the new, not yet released, Aston Martin DB something or other Vantage convertible as the all-time best. In short, I waited in vain and wondered, like you, if and when the W113 would show up in this series.
