Hey Johnny
I forgot to attach the extra photos
Thank you for reminding me
Kids are at home school holidays and we've all lost our minds
Lucky I go to work.

Thanks for your support.
Hopefully start on the interior this week which will take another 6 months I'm sure.

Send me some pics of your Pagoda hopefully we'll get to catch up Christmas 🎄 time when we come to LA

😉

Nice! Lots of hours have been spent, one can note...
A question, all Pagodas were delivered with a firewall pad (mat). Are you going to fit one in your SL?
If you are, it is kind of tricky to fit at this stage; best done while engine compartment is empty

Hans I know
Im lucky to one of the last of the original diamond firewall pads that I got through Garry Marks. I was so nervous in putting it on myself I didn't want to get it wrong.
I missed the opportunity so now I have to cut it in two spots
I have decided to get it professionally installed by someone who knows what they are doing.
I also noticed that my ID plate has an extra smaller ID plate for seat belt anchorage so it will need to be cut to include.
So I will place it on there for now with some weight on it so it starts taking shape.

Let me know if you have any tips.

Just about to start on the interior so I'm sure that will take another 6months

Nice to here from you and thanks for the advise

JC

Ok, so there is your firewall pad ready for installation. Great

Not referring to firewall, I can comment on body shell at front however. The idea from factory was, that only black should be visible inside the grille at front. So, all areas there were brush painted black.

Yes understand now what you are talking about.

Wow they did this after on the assembly line as paint runs and spills were not a concern.

What sort of paint was it ?

They finished some 20 Pagoda cars per day, there was a lot of hands-on work done on the assembly line. Imagine a woman/guy there, with a brush...
This was also the case when it came to the colour spot markings on the chassis, always interesting to find those markings on an original car (many times they appear when the bitumen black chassis treatment is removed) Use search function: "dotology" or "paint dots".
Sorry I do not know type of black paint used, satin black anyway.
