My car has been featured in a Motor Books buyer's guide on the MB coupes and convertibles by Fred Larimer which should be released soon. Attached are two photos taken early this year. I have learned a lot from this group even though I rarely post. Now comes the hard part. I have received an offer to purchase it that I could not turn down and the deal should be consumated later this week (I have owned it for 8 years and restored it myself). I still have a 1960 190b that I am restoring and I still plan to check in on this group to see how things are going. I want to thank everyone for their contributions, especially Cees and Achim.

(I am now pursuing an e9 BMW CS coupe which others in this group also admire. If anyone knows of one in Southern California please let me know)

very nice Chris. What's the upholstery's color, is it grey by any chance? I'm changing mine also to silver MB 180 but did not decide the interior color yet.

It is now Parchment, which is nearly identical to the original white-grey. The door panels are the originals.

(Being sad to see this nice car going ... :( )
(I don't remember being much of a help to you - but thanks for the kind words. All the best to you!)

Achim, You helped me with some photos of the locking gas cap and you have always had great advice and knowledge which you have shared with everyone in this group.

Gorgeous SL, Chris. As someone who has parted with a cherished SL, I know what you're feeling right now.
I hope that you'll refer the new owner of your SL to this group and our site. There's a honeymoon period for new owners that everyone here cumulatively benefits from. The new owner introduces himself or herself, asks questions, everyone interacts and the rest evolves naturally. I think everyone gets some satisfaction from seeing that initial burst of excitement.

The car looks great! Any pics of the interior you could share with us?

Douglas, I will certainly let the new owner know about this group. I am still checking in, even though the car is gone, because this has been a great forum and I have learned a lot from everyone's contributions. I sold the car through an intermediary who I think you know (Murray) who may also help me find the e9 coupe.
Hauser, Here are a few more photos. The interior is 119 (code 2102).

With a silver car one would expect to see red, black, burgundy or blue but the parchment does look very nice!
