Title: Pagoda mechanics in Washington, DC, Alexadria, Arlington, VA area
Post by: goodman on June 12, 2017, 19:50:41
My 1968 250sl, which I just got, has a problem which I have seen several times on this forum. After about 15-20 minutes, it sputters and dies. Wait for it to cool down and it will start, but run only for a few minutes and die again as if it is running out of gas.

I need a good mechanic who knows these cars and the issue,so I don't have to replace everything except the tires to find the problem.

Any ideas and I would be very appreciative.

Morrie,

Send a PM to Chuck Taylor who is local and a member of the board.  He can likely point you in the right direction.

Best,

Tom

You probably have a clogged tank strainer and almost certainly a rusty fuel tank.  PM me if you want some help.
