Title: How did we all fit in there?
Post by: TheEngineer on June 06, 2017, 22:53:35
We went skiing. The woman is my wife, the girl my daughter. I was the picture taker. The car our Jaguar XK 120. I wonder now: How did we all fit in there with our skis ?
06/07/17 addendum: Come to think of it, this XK120 was claimed to do 200 km/hr and that was in 1950. My 280SL is claimed to do about the same and it is 19 years younger. The SL drives smoother but is a little tricky in fast turns. The jaguar cornered flat as a board at any speed. I did 200 on the Autobahn once. It is dangerously fast and amazing how long it takes to slow to 100 km/hr. I had that license plate for all my years in Switzerland because it stays with the owner even when he gets another vehicle. Strange?

I was reeminded of similar the other day.
Dad used to have a Daimler v8 (the equivalent of the Mk2 Jag)

Used to hitch up a caravan on the back, put three kids - 5, 9 and 12 - in the back, mum in the front and drive to the south of france. Likely smoking most of the way. Stay for 2 weeks and drive home again. On the plus side, we did get to stand on the tranny tunnel with our heads out of the sunroof...
