Does anyone think this could be made into a sofa for a man cave? My wife rolled her eyes at me for even thinking of it. What does everyone else think?

Yes it could, with the trunk converted into a mini keg refrigerator -- or perhaps a cigar humidor!
-
Brad,
I agree with Jonathan, it could be made into a couch, sure. But it may be like the "wagon-wheel" coffee table if you know what I mean.
You must have a pretty large man-cave !
-
If you add wheels, it also could be a classy trailer for your Pagoda. A unique "off-factory" equipment option, so to speak :D
-
Brad, love the idea of the couch. With mini kegs in the trunk you can run taps to each seat. Never need to get up. Maybe have a sliding tray come out of the refrigerated trunk for your cheese/meat snacks. If you get it done I'll bring the mini kegs, but I will need to stay a few days. ;D :o ::)
No worries though, I can sleep on the sofa.

Sooo... Is the price too high? He wants $400 to ship it to my location. I would have $950 into it before I get started. A fun project... maybe... Is it “penny wise, pound foolish?” My wife still thinks it's a bad idea. He has a driver coming to my area leaving on June 2.

I'm going to disagree with everyone. I don't think it works. I think rear-seat-sofa-conversions only look right (if one can even say that) when made from cars that had an original rear seat. If it were a W111 Coupe or Sedan I'd say go for it. But the idea of a Pagoda back seat just doesn't work in my opinion.
-
My wife doesn't want me to get it so I guess I'm out. If the car was local I may have had a chance at it. I just can't justify it without seeing it close up to see how much work it will need...
-
The luck dip could be if it still had a hood frame in the soft top compartment - then it would be worth the shipping cost!

Scott,
I am truly and totally devastated that you didn't read my post carefully :-[ that's why I am suggesting a conversion to a trailer!

George:
It seems that the rear chromes are there. That should compensate the expense
-
The ones I saw used the trunk area as the seating area.

Badali,
I think you might have made a tactical error telling your wife you wanted it for a man cave. You should have said "Honey, I am thinking about mounting a Flat screen TV under the trunk lid and putting it in our bedroom at the foot of the bed. Of course we might have to shrink the closets a little to get it in there." Then you simply "settle" for it going in the man cave.
-
Shvegel,
That's a great idea. It would actually fit in the bedroom. 8) I'll talk to her when I get home ;D If I need a place to stay after that would anyone like to adopt a fellow Pagoda owner...

Seriously, It is an odd piece to make into furniture but probably the best way would be to remove and sell the top compartment and tonneau, upend it and make it into a love seat bumper up with the top of the car facing forward.
