I wonder if someone would be so kind as to help me. About three years ago I purchased a 280sl which was extremely rusted. I replaced almost all the panels and cut out other rust, had it sprayed with two pak epoxy and final coats. I am now assembling the car but have forgot how the radiator is secured on the LHS, there are just holes but no threads on the oil cooler side. The other side (RHS) has two bolts. How is the radiator secured on the oil cooler side?
Help would be greatly appreciated.

Something like this maybe - been through it...

Thanks so much for your helpful referral, but it does not show how the oil cooler, which is attached to the radiator, is attached to the car. I suspect it is via a thick rubber ring because there is a spot at the top of the oil cooler for such a ring. However, there appears to be no place on the body for the ring to attach unlike the W114.

May be wrong, but I think you see the oil cooler on the picture and in my car it is attached to the body by the similar 2 screws as cooler. With the insulating rubber pad.
I attached a picture - maybe you could see it a bit (it is not my car)>

Thanks further Pawel66, It seems as though the threaded holes are not existing on my oil cooler so I will have to do something. Thank you for the photo. It shows how a well prepared engine should look.
Best regards

I'm thinking you have an oil cooler from a 108 sedan which doesn't have any mounting holes. I suppose it's possible to make these threaded holes but it should be done very carefully.
