Title: Blue Plastic Nuts for securing dashboard wood
Post by: neelyrc on April 04, 2017, 02:01:39
I am in need of 4 for my new dashboard wood bows.  Tom Hansen is offering, "a funky sort of special metal nut, $18.70 each!! "  Buds has a white plastic substitute at $21.00 each.  Any other recommendations out there?

Not Blue but a direct replacement. Easier on the wallet as well

But I tend to remeber they were available new also in blue  - somewhere in Europe. :o

Let me look into my memories or so
and I'll let you know. ???

Best,

SLS sells a white repro nut but the flange is a bit narrow and may require an additional washer. Better to go with the AuthenticClassic nut.

The original blue nuts are also used to hold the upholstery panel down (rear windscreen shelf) on the W108, W109, W114, and W115 sedans of the era! You'll find two on every parts car !  ;)

Thanks Gents! :)

I ordered the Authentic classic nuts mentioned by Tyler above.  I had looked at the white SLS nuts but the shipping cost was prohibitive.

I am off to Italy for the summer on April 21 and I need to get this job completed so that it  is not hanging when I return for PUB in September.

Thanks again for the help. :)
