Does anyone recognize where this piece goes? Thanks very much... John

Clips on the front of your disk brake caliper

I looked at that, though maybe it was brake part, and then decided it wasn't. It still may not be. The material it's made from looks far too thick for starters. Those pieces are generally stainless steel and maybe 22 gauge.

I also vote for the clips on the front of the disk brake caliper. I happen to have come across the original front brake calipers of my 71' 280SL and they have these clips. Only difference is that they are flat, without the embossments and they are yellow anodized steel. I also worked on the front brakes of my wife's '67 230 fintail, and it has the same clips exactly similar to the ones shown on the picture. So I guess earlier Pagodas must have them too.

I'll be doing a physical check later this week. I also have a 66 250S and was thinking I may have got a part from that vehicle mixed in. I'll know for sure soon and revert.
Thanks as usual for your input... John

Hi Folks... The piece definitely clips on the front of the brake caliper. I didn't realize I must have removed the driver's side one upon disassembly. Its back in place now. Thanks as always for the help. John...
