Title: Tool to adjust steering box play - Will an angle grinder pin wrench do the job?
Post by: GGR on February 26, 2017, 14:49:27
Hi all,

I tried to adjust the play on the steering box of a friend's car. But the second nut on top of the box is so tight against to round flange that the whole assy turns and I couldn't find a way to block the flange so as to loosen the nut. I remember someone mentioning an angle grinder pin wrench to hold the round flange. Here is an adjustable one:

Before ordering it I would welcome any tip and experience in this regard.

Thanks!

I haven't tried that, but it seems like a viable option.  I used a pair of right angle needle nose pliers.  It was not a fun job.
