Title: Ride Height
Post by: Harry on January 02, 2017, 03:50:55
I see that my 230SL looks low in front or high in rear.  Measuring from the star center to the wheel well lip suggests the issue is with the front.  It is measuring about 13 ins (rear about 14 ins).  It visually looks low in the front.

So what is the prime suspect?  I believe that everything is stock in the front end.  Seems that I've seen here that the subframe mounts are often guilty but I'd like to check them if possible before considering absorbing that cost.  Or maybe there are other possibilities?

Thanks,
Harry

The front springs, and/or someone placed too thin rubber spring seats.

Add subframe mounts to Cees' list.
50 yr old rubber parts are amost always bad. A combination of all the items add up to a noticable ride height difference.
