HI Guys,
Before I took my pillars A to re-chrome I took a picture of the whole thing to make sure I would assemble correctly. Just a question on the picture below...what is this triangle part and why do we need to use it?
Thank you in advance.

It is a part of the vertical chrome piece on your A pillar. It is not a separate piece.
I believe rubber seal is leaning against it when properly installed. Not sure of its practical use.

Thank you Igor.

Sorry Igor, it is indeed a separate piece with the p/n 1137250141 and is used in other locations also.

And wait until you find out how much Mercedes will charge for it!

Thank you Alfred. It did resolve my problem.
Happy Holidays to all!

Thanks Alfred, you are right. I did not notice it could be separated. Things you learn every day, thanks to the fellow members.

The little triangles are inconspicous but very necessary. These protect the window seals from getting out of its guide rail (chrome strip) while the door window squeezes against the seal.
Especially the lower edges of the window seals will come out easily with the years if this supporting 'triangle' clip is missing. :D
Ask me how I know .... ??? :P
Achim
(still has to buy some of these very expensive clips)

Thank you Achaim,
It makes total sense.
Happy Holidays!
