I am about to repair my hood (the captured nuts) and I know it has been discussed before but I am looking for the link to best repair. Thanks.
-
I am doing the same thing. I didn't find anything here myself but attached is what I got from the German side. If that's what you are looking for and don't speak the language, I can help you with some of it.

Thanks for the instructions Dirk, but there was a full explanation of the repair (with pictures and in English) and where to buy the nut assembly on this site. Hopefully someone will provide the link.
Great pictures though!

No problem. I like to see that too.

Are you looking for the caged nut assemblies below?
Someone is offering them as a repair kit. However, I didn't quiet understand how they would be attached to the alum. hood.

Here is one link to a thread about hood hinge repairs.

Thank you.

Thanks for the link.
I looks like there was a rivet that held the nut assembly in place. I guess you would cut the aluminum on the side, slide in the assembly and you could screw the assembly in place where the rivets were and then weld up the hole in the side where you slid in the assembly. The screws would be hidden beneath the hinge bracket so you could not see it.
Does that sound right.....?

exactly correct.

Thanks for your help!

I have a aluminum patch panel for the hood to make the repair. They generally sell for $650. I am asking $350. Free Shipping.
