Post by: DELAKOUR on November 01, 2016, 14:09:46
Hello everybody,
Can you please help me answer on the matching number question of my car?
VIN#: 113044 12 002345 and
Engine#: 130983 12 001443.
Thank you in advance,
Antony

Hello Antony,

Sounds good,
could very well be a set of "matching numbers." 8)

However,
nobody here can tell you that for sure. ???
You need to have the data card (= "factory birth certificate") of your car to confirm.

You can obtain the built sheet/data card from the MB Classic Center.

Google a bit around on this site how others requested this data card.

Good luck,

Achim

while you wait to check if the engine is the original engine, you can check to see if the hood is original and other body panels. they have a number that should match 5 digits on the chassis plate that is under the hood on the fender.

Hi Antony,

I see you found the right spot to post your question. As I mentioned in my e-mail to you this is the best way to get help.

Contact Tom by e-mail see his contact info below. You need to send him a copy of ownership before he can send you the Data Card that should then show both the VIN and Motor No's

Achim,
You could have said:
"could very well be a set of "matching numbers" if your car is a 280 SL with an automatic trans" !!  ;D
