I have a 1963 230SL that the previous owners removed the data card or plate when they brought the car over from Germany in the late 60's. The story I get is that they had to register the car as a 1967 so they had a bronze plate created. This created a big problem when I bought the car as it had to be re-registered as a 1963 before I could transfer it. I have been able to source a new data card / plate and I am looking for a source to stamp the correct numbers onto the plate. Any thoughts on where this could be done? I called the Mercedes Benz Class Center and they said they do not do this type of work.
Thanks

Look no further. This man can furnish the plates and perform the stampings with proof of ownership.

Yes.
His name is Mehmet.
He seems to have the exact same punches to do the job nearly indistinguishable from an original plate.
His email is

I found the original equipment plate on eBay.
I did contact Mehmet who has provided a quote for the new plate, properly inscribed for 100 Euro's.
The paint code plate is 70 Euro's.
As expected, the requirement is a copy of the Title to prove ownership.
Thanks to everyone for the feedback.
I have not ordered the plate yet, but will do so in the very near future.
