Title: Recommendation for East Coast Car Shipper
Post by: Tom on November 09, 2004, 21:01:03
I need to ship a Pagoda between Washington, DC and Maine.  The car does not warrant enclosed shipping.  Any one recommend a shipper?  Thanks in advance.

Best,

Tom

For expenses, you could fly me over from London and I'd drive them :D

I'm sure that once I've worked out right on red, stop means stop, yield, median and the like it can't be that difficult.

I mean, you lot all seem to manage ;)  (just) 8)

Try Steve Geyer up in Gaithersburg.  We've been using him for years and he is pretty reasonable.  He ships cars for many of our clients to Florida and elsewhere.  301 540-1600.

I have never used anyone other than Intercity Lines.  They have a snow bird special going on right now.  You may want to get a quote from them just to see how much you can save.

Thanks to all for thoughts and references.  Tosh, your kind offer to come across the big pond is appreciated. Arthur, I will let you know if there is a deal to be had for your return trip south.

Hey Tom,

Just curious. Are you taking the car up to Gernold in Maine?

James,

Yes, it's going to Gernold.  Anyone have some free time and want to take a pleasant 12 hour drive?

Thanks to all for recommendations.  I am sending the car via Fed Ex.  No kidding-they pick the car up tomorrow.

You should see the size of the card board box they plan to wrap around that thing!

Best,

Tom
