Does anyone else here ever accidently knee their car when they get in?
I open the driver's door up and seem to instinctively move my right leg too far forward as I get in and bang my knee on the inner door just below the A-post. Generally happens when I'm hurrying.
I do it about once or twice a year, so I would feel slightly less ridiculous if someone else did this from time to time as well.

I'm not exactly sure what you're talking about but I don't think that I have. Is the door completely open when this happens?

You know, everytime I work on the car, I get a black spot on the right knee of my pants. I thought it was an errant brush against the tire, but you may have solved the mystery...fortunately, I'm absent the painful part of the experience!

Better than banging your head which might do permanent thinking damage; a little temporary limp ain't so bad...

Doug, I think it's going to be a very long time before anyone forgets about that imaginary brake light and those special pills. :D :D

Well, to see something really interesting you'd have to watch me get in and out of my car. Since I'm over 6'3'' it's not that easy to do.
I sit in the seat and then swing my legs in after I'm in position. Even more fun getting into a 300SL.
Every time I start banging my head on something or hurting my hand when a wrench slips I usually know that it's a warning sign to slow down and be more carefull.

Last year when I came to Ohio to attend the second SL seminar put on by Joe & Mary Alexander I wasn't in the best medical shape. But I got there and had a hoot of a time and meet some great people.
If anyone had a surprise in life this was a kicker that knocked me down. but I got up and refused to stop doing what I do and enjoy . Working on cars all my life is what I am about the cuts and bruses that come along the way from day to day are all part of the reminder to slow down and think.
So Douglas Stop complaining!!!!!! Slow down and enjoy life.
