Title: Mercedes-Benz Classic Magazine Pagoda
Post by: mbzse on July 23, 2016, 09:42:16
Mercedes Classic issue a Magazine. In the current issue No2/2016, there is a good article about our favourite car. In addition, a generic buyers guide, that perhaps could be added into our tech wiki on this Forum.
See web: mbmag.me/bgpagoda (http://mbmag.me/bgpagoda)  A .pdf is there

Copyright issues prevent us from doing that.

The Polish car (in/around Wroclaw) looks amazing too!

Perhaps this is the wrong place to bring this up but learning about missing yet another Pagoda article in "Mercedes Classic" magazine prompts the following:

I wish "Mercedes Classic" magazine had a more enlightened subscription renewal policy.  Countless times over more than a decade I have subscribed. They only do a one year subscription.  They do not send a subscription renewal before (or even after!) the year is up.  At the end of the year they simply terminate sending the magazine.  When the subscriber notices that they have missed an issue or two and re-subscribes they are not willing to send missed issues, but seem to think that a free "Mercedes Classic" tote bag will make up for the missing issues.  So I have a collection of tote bags to commemorate an equal number of gaps in my collection of "Mercedes Classic" magazines.  I have done this dance enough times and missed enough issues (including the Pagoda 50th Anniversary issue!) that I just can't be bothered to deal with them any more.

That said, I happen to like "Mercedes Classic" a lot and would be pleased to pay an additional amount in my Pagoda SL Group dues if the Pagoda Group would be inclined to make a continuing subscription to "Mercedes Classic" an additional perk of Full Membership.  There is almost always enough content in each issue that is of direct interest to Pagoda Group members to justify such an initiative.  Maybe the Pagoda Group could get a discount from "Mercedes Classic" if they didn't have to send tote bags to renewing subscribers every year!

Hi,

The "Mercedes Classic" magazine is sent free to members of any Mercedes Club officially recognized by Mercedes.

It was a pretty interesting magazine copy; I just received mine on Thursday.
The 113 buyer's guide was obviously written in another language, German I presume, and a very different kind of guide than the one I wrote. The author went into some pretty excruciating detail, enough to scare some away. While there was more detail I would have liked to add in my Buyer's Guide (and did; it was edited), it wouldn't have fit the format...

I haven't seemed to experience the problems Mike Hughes has, thus I am tote-bag free though I did get a free watch with a subscription a couple of years ago...

One interesting tidbit was mentioned in the Editor's piece on the first page, it appears as if there is a "by women, for women" initiative at Mercedes called "She's Mercedes". It hasn't made it out of Germany I don't think...

From all the vendors that cater to the W113 enthusiast, I have consistently found Mercedes-Benz itself to be the least customer-oriented.
