Title: Correct chrome on early 230Sl

Hi,

Can anyone tell me the correct chrome on 230Sl? Bumpers and etc are quite obvious but I'm not sure about wiper blades and chromes around windshield, pillars, Windows frames and rails on the hood. Are they brushed aluminum or shiny chrome or ?

Any and all chrome on the 230SL is shiny, no brushed aluminum.  This includes all the chrome on the inside of the car like the steering wheel, rear view mirror, all gauges and trim.

Hi thanks for the reply. The reason I asked is because I have ordered new chrome for windshield and it has satin finished. Can I assume that satin finished is for 250 and 280sl?

If you are talking about the chrome on the A pillar and across the top of the windshield, those are shiny chrome.  If you are referring to the trim that sits in the rubber around the windshield, that is not chrome and never was.  It is aluminum.  It should still be reasonably shiny, certainly not brushed.  This windshield trim would be the same for all cars I believe, from the 230SL to the 280SL.

Thanks don't know why the chrome that I got from Nimoller were not shiny.
