Title: injection pump hose (A 129 997 02 82)
Post by: Ferrolanoman on June 28, 2016, 15:22:06
Gents,
I'm about to install the 2-female end flexible injection pump hose on my '70 280SL and want to know if I should install it dry or if the threads should be coated (Teflon paste, Teflon tape, non-seize compound or ???). Also should I expect a lot of resistance in removing the two old original fittings? Finally how tight should these be upon replacement? Is there a lot of fuel pressure at this location?
Thank you in advance to all who respond.
Ricardo

The old fittings can be very tight. Install clean and dry. You can put a small amount of anti seize on the threads only if you want but have never found it necessary. Make them tight but not so tight as to strip them. This side of the system runs about 10-15 psi so not a huge pressure.
