I'd like to find a Euro License Plate Holder and a License that I've seen on many SL's that reads: "MB 280 SL". I've done a search on this site sl113 and can't find what I'm looking for.
Thanks Tim D.

Tim, try GAK Motorsports. They are on the web at:

You can also try these two. The first one lets you see what your plate will actually look like. The secomd site will give you history, city codes and examples.

I had very good luck with Mattman Enterprises
http://www.mattman-enterprises.com/home.html
Very pleasant people to deal with, prompt delivery, and a good price ($15.25 per plate until 10/31, $20.95 thereafter).
I got the currently correct German plates with a D in the blue field on the left, and the seal and TÜV stickers for both front and rear plates. I believe the plates meet German standards, except that the number I used is CA 230SL. CA is fine for California, but is no longer a valid place code in Germany, and the last part should have 1 or 2 letters first, then up to 4 digits. I call it my poetic license.

Hi folks--
I had a custom German plate made that reads "1969 280SL" and it is as authentic as it gets--it even passed scrutiny from my Austrian Friend who said it had all the right labels as well.

I think I paid about $30 for it

Thanks All,
Exactly what I was looking for! I appreciate the quick response by the knowledgable members of this group. My vehicle is US, but I've ordered Euro headlights and now the plate will add to the aura.
