Hi All,
Does anyone have a decent photo of an original panel seam under the headlights?
Thanks in advance
Rob

Thanks Stick,
I was expecting to see clear defined seams like you see on the rear panels near the taillights. I read a recent article in a magazine where the writer was giving buying advice and mentioned to look for the seams under the headlights. I couldn't see such clear seams on either of my cars but I know most the front fenders (on my cars) were replaced.
I take it this example is an original and unmolested body?
Regards,

Yes, it is original and unmolested. It reveals nearly everything you need to know about how these shells were put together.

I am curious to know what to look for? On the assembly line I would assume the entire front (fenders, front panel and cowl panels) would have been slipped on as a unit and for a time you could buy a one piece front end of the same construction as a replacement part. regardless of how the front was assembled the seams are still there. The front on my car had a replacement one piece front and that was replaced by a set of fenders, front panel and cowl and the weld seams are identical to the factory ones.
