Title: Unknown Relay R/H Engine compartment
Post by: CJHenderson on April 28, 2016, 18:37:24
Have a relay on the right side of engine compartment just aft of the shock cover. Looked in Chilton manual cannot locate it.

I found when I checked the voltage with the alternator turning, it would read 12 volts. It should read about 13.8 volts. So I opened it up and turned the little screw until it read 13.8 volts. I wonder why my battery is now happier.

I was not aware that the output voltage is adjustable.
Where is this little screw located?

Andy, If you remove the top cover you will see the adjustment. Cleaning the contacts often helps as well. Only the Original regulators have this adjustment. The replacement ones are not adjustable.
