What can be done to eliminate the engine noise (feedback) from our old radios?
Thanks!

I have been told that most electrical noise in radios is due to improper grounding of the radio and/or antenna. Also could be antenna cable not seated in radio correctly and/or insulation worn off and touching the car body...

Other thoughts:
Bad spark plug wires can be a source of intererence, or loose plug wire connections at either end. Loose or corroded ground connections could be a source. Loose connections in any of the ignition components can be a source. A regular popping noise that speeds up with the engine is probably ignition related.
The factory installed interference suppession on cars equipped with factory radios, but if the car was built without a factory radio it may not have the suppression parts. For example, the ignition coil on my car has a capacitor connected from one terminal to ground to supress interference from the coil (not the capacitor on the distributor, but looks similar). I think radio noise suppression kits exist if your car doesn't have the factory stuff and you can't find an obvious source.

I recall when replacing my front rotors, the front axle stubs had little brass(?) posts sticking out of them. The BBB called them something like "radio noise suppressors" or something like that. There was a part on the wheel bearing grease cap which reached out and touched (or covered) this small brass post. Anyone else familiar with this, or am dreaming???

I don't think you're dreaming, Rodd. I've seen mention of the grease cap/wheel spindle radio noise suppressor in the BBB or someplace like that. My car doesn't have them, lost long ago I guess, but it doesn't seem to affect the radio.
