The W111 coupe fenders are not the same as sedan fenders. They are the same as W111 cabriolet fenders. Also be aware that there is the later  "low grille" coupe and cab fenders which are different from the earlier ones.

You wouldn't even want to guess how much those low grill 3.5 coupe fenders are right now.

Back then, Mercedes had a way of designing the bodies so that there was a very strong resemblance between models. In fact so similar, that it got them into trouble because the owners of the higher end cars wanted greater separation. So extra chrome and better quality interiors were added to the more expensive models. This is also true of the Ponton sedans and coupes.

The other thing I discovered is that just because it resembles each other, doesn't mean that they are the same part. In fact, usually not the same. You have to be careful. The EPC is useful mostly in that you can find the part number for each model and see if they match. Mercedes does substitute a lot, so not always reliable.

Here's a nose to nose picture of my 1964 220 SEb Coupe (right) and my 1965 220 S (left) at a time I had both - only the 220 SEb survives today.

You can really see how the grille cants back on the coupe as compared to the sedan in that pic, I've heard that for years but could never really notice in person.
