Title: Paris - Classic Car Dealer
Post by: kampala on January 23, 2016, 14:56:21
Spotted this Pagoda from the street in the window of this Boutique Classic Car Dealer on Avenue Rapp in the 7th Arrondissement of Paris.   Stepped in the take the photo.  The seller told me its a one owner 280, originally bought in France and surprisingly it's a California with a back seat and no soft top.

Hans,

Not sure what the 60 Euro sign is for ---  I never asked the price as the person I talked to in the showroom was clearly a "sales" guy and not an enthusiast and I was not a buyer and didn't pretend to be one -- so I never asked the price.

Take care

As soon as I see a place that sells '' Classic '' cars I know what to expect. No Cord, Marmon, or V12 Cadillac. What you really have there is a used car salesman trying to be something he isn't.

In addition Dan, when you step into a "Classic Car Dealership" you can expect inflated prices that may or may not be paid by people that have a) plenty of money and b) in most cases don't know what they are getting.

A Pagoda is actually classified as a Milestone car and is not a classic at all. 99% of Milestone cars are now called classics because everyone just follows along with what someone else calls them. And now we have a number of car shows on TV calling a 1983 Trans Am a classic car when it's just a used car. Shame on them for perpetuating a lie. :P

If you don't believe me check it out and see.

Interesting to find a California Coupe in Paris, where the weather would make driving without the hardtop very risky indeed. Maybe the car once lived in Provence, or maybe it is a US import. Paris is clamping down on the use of pre unleaded cars, so maybe it's no longer possible to use the Pagoda in that environment?
