Title: Heads Up: MB EPC is no longer free
Post by: JPMOSE on January 15, 2016, 16:34:57

All,

I just renewed my subscription to the Mercedes on-line EPC and it will now cost you $75- annually. I went ahead and did it, but I also questioned the site on this and they confirmed it is no longer available for zero cost.   This change was very recent, so if you renewed for free...count your blessings!!  lol

WOW! I had always used the paid version for the included international info. But it was $20/year or something. At that price it is a no brainer. $75? Not sure.

I see the EPC/parts book images everywhere on-line and I wonder if they are starting to crack down on that. I have until November...

AS IF MB needs the money. ::) We use THEIR site to order parts from them and they want us to pay to pay for it. I can't imagine any other on line operation being that bold.

Seems like '' DB '' stands for something entirely different than Daimler Benz. :(

Perhaps we can set up a club membership?

I don't know how it works in other countries BUT in Australia as a registered MB Club member we can use our Club membership number to register for access to the EPC

One way or another we pay.

Bob,

I have a sneaking suspicion that it is not going to work that way anymore.  They are not going to have one $75 registration for possible hundreds of members.

It might... Check this post: MBClubcard (http://www.sl113.org/forums/index.php?topic=19656.msg138419;topicseen#msg138419) access.

I haven't tried it again... But this used to work

My MBclubcard works, but I am a MBCA member in the states. I remember they offered access to members awhile back. I looked at the EPC renew, and sure enough $75 and that is the only option. They USED TO have an option for free sign up.

How can they tell, if it is shared?

I still have 109 days left on my last renewal.  I have parts books anyway so it won't make a difference to me.

Hi

I just logged in using my MB Club card.
Garry have you attempted to log in to the EPC using your club card number?

I suspect it could be a way of encouraging new membership.

I once tried to log into the EPC using a friends credentials and was kicked out since he was logged in already. Turns out two computers cannot log into the EPC at the same time when using the same information.

I have been a member for many years and it was never for free.
I always paid $25.
So if I read the above comments correctly, if you are an MBCA member it is for free.
OR did I misunderstand, and when I renew I will have to pay $75.
I own some euro cars so I need the site.
Also remember Tom Hanson in CALIF, he is the best source.

And it's not available to anyone outside of the USA using their web site.
