Does anyone have a picture or diagram of the upper control arm (out) kit assembly order. Not sure which way the castle washer goes and on which side ?

All of that info is readily available in the BBB.

Ok. I've seen mention of the BBB. What is it and where does it live? I've looked through the index and done searches but not any closer to the where about of it.

Pinder,
You need to search the Tech Manual for all information. Particularly as a Full Member you have full access to all areas. Most answers to questions are there 8)

They come up here on the For Sale area occasionally and on eBay as well. Depending on what year you have you either need the first manual or both.

BBB = big blue book 111 108 109 and 113 is fairly well covered in this volume.
I also use an earlier release for 230SL's that covers a number of models starting in 1959. One thing to remember with MB workshop manuals; you generally have to go back in years to find basic info that isn't covered in the BBB. In order to find the piston ring gap placement for a 280SL I had to go back to the 190 workshop manual before I could find it. Apparently, MB figures you should know stuff like that if you work at a dealership. ::)

If you buy a BBB get a new reprint so you can read it in bed....Unless you are single.

Thanks! that's just what I needed. I think if I bought the BBB and started reading it in bed my wife will definitely beat me to a pulp using it as a weapon. She thinks I spend too much time on the car. In fact I secretly work on it when shes at work.
