Title: Identification please

Would someone be so kind as to tell where this nylon mold goes.

It is from the bonnet (hood) and I think it locates the spring rod that keeps the bonnet up, but this does not seem right because the spring rod must rotate through at least 90 degrees as  the bonnet is raised.

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

It is. This part holds the far end of the rod in place.
