Hi guys I have taken my 230 Sl for a long drive from Sydney to Melbourne who's is about 900 klm
And all went well except I noticed some diff oil weeping from the front of the differential I had replace all oils a few days before my trip and my concern was have I put in to much diff oil

Leave the car flat on the ground and slide under to remove the fill plug. Place a pan under before you do this and if there is too much it will drain to the proper level.

If it's leaking from the front you may have a worn pinion seal. Bit of work to replace it.

Thanks guys will check oil level

Check the breather on top of the diff also, as that's a possible source. It may also be that the oil foamed up and has leaked from the breather. You can unscrew the breather to check it's clean.
