I am trying to figure out how to mount the servo pump bracket. When I bought the car, the bracket was held by only the long M10 bolt shown in the pictures. The area around the threaded hole (see IMG_1584_1) was broken off. I have welded the broken off piece back in place, but the bracket does not seem to fit. I do not understand why there is a threaded hole in the bracket, when there is a threaded hole in the engine block. Another thing that does not fit, is the bolt attaching the bracket to the oil pan. There is a space between the bracket and the oil pan, and I believe the bracket will be distorted if I use force to screw the bolt further in.
Can anyone explain to me how this bracket is mounted correctly? Does anyone have any pictures?

You have it mounted correctly. There is another allen head screw which goes into the block which you have an arrow pointing towards. I would put a couple of washers under the bracket if it looks as though there will be too much space between it and the oil pan. BTW, this bracket is painted black on every car I've ever seen. The mounting hardware is cad plated.

Thanks Don. I am still a bit confused about the threaded hole in the bracket. It does not make sense to have a threaded hole both in the bracket and the engine block.It just makes it difficult to attach the bracket firmly. I believe this was the reason why the area around the threaded hole broke off in the first place.
Regarding the color: I appreciate the information about the black color. I am trying to restore the engine to it's original state.

Rune, on my 230SL M127 engine the PS pump bracket bracket also has on the right wall a rectangular slot at the bottom and three round holes on the top just like yours. However, none of the holes are threaded.
On a spare M130 engine the bracket only has two round holes on the top that I can see on the photo and I am wondering whether you have this bracket and someone drilled a new hole with threads?? Also that bracket rests on top of the M130 oil pan and there is no space.
What happens when you bolt down the bracket on top of the oil pan, how do the holes above align with the engine block?

There should be no threads in the bracket for the allen bolt. just threads in the block.

Alfred: Thanks for the pictures, they explain a lot. My bracket was not correctly mounted to the engine block and the servo pump was missing the long bolt with the spacer. I have to get this bolt, which I believe is a 3/8" x 3.5" UNC. I also need to get a spacer.
If I bolt down the bracket to the oil pan, the holes in the bracket do not align with the holes in the engine block. The best fit is when I enter the two bolts in the engine block. Then the hole for the oil pan bolt is aligned, but there is a space between the bracket and the pil pan. I think the best solution will be to fill this space with washers or a spacer.
Joe: I will enlarge the hole with threads. Because of the threaded hole and the fact that there is a space between the bracket and the oil pan, I suspect that the bracket may not be the original.

Before you modify the bracket make sure you get the missing bolt and also the tensioner parts together and assure yourself that the tensioning mechanism works.
As you can see in the attached graphic you need quite a number of parts (120 - 124) and I hope you do have those.
Number 125, the missing bolt, is: p/n 001 990 4301; sorry I don't have the dimensions, but it appears that you can still buy it from Mercedes.
The spacer ring 128 actually came in several different lengths, from 12.5 to 13.5 mm wide: p/n 180 466 0x 51 .
As plan B you might consider searching for the correct early bracket.

He also requires spacer 119, this will cure the gap he has between the bracket and the ally oil pan.

I have tried to identify what parts I am missing. Most of them are available from Mercedes, according to the online search. I did not get a match for A001 990 4301.
The missing parts are (refering to Alfred's picture post #6): 116, 117, 118, 119, 125, 126, 127, 128 and 123.
I have made an inquiry to a local dealer, so I am waiting for his response.
