Title: Tachometer gear bushing
Post by: vande17941 on October 13, 2015, 01:37:03
Reading in the technical section of this site, I found that a worn bushing could be shimmed. I see that using fuel injection washers works. However, using one is just a tiny bit too thick for me. Does Mercedes make specific shims for this purpose?

I do not know if MB has these shims. I bought them from McMaster Carr, they have many different thicknesses available. Unfortunately I do not remember the ID and OD otherwise I would have added the proper link for you.

McMaster/Carr has round steel metric shims. The inside diameter needs to be 14mm I believe. You can also replace the thrust bushing with a new one.
