Don't know the car but do know the shop: this is where Peter van Es had his car rally-prepared. They do a lot of restoration work, also on other marques like Jaguar.

Great job searching Doug! When it comes to finding a Pagoda Sherlock Holmes has nothing on you! :D
I am glad to see someone did away with the side marker lights. I myself do not care for them at all. A naked car such as this tells just about the whole story as to what kind of life it has had. The oner will have himself a new car.

It's curious how they elected to add the horizontal chrome trim under the rear license plate and eliminated the side marker lights, yet they kept the US headlights and bumper guards. (Note how the front guards are installed out of spec.)
This appears to be a first-class restoration. I wonder how much something like this costs in the Netherlands? Cees, care to guesstimate? Looks like the metal work wasn't too extensive.

I was suprised to see no metal work needed on the rear sill caps section in front of rear wheels...
I notice that a lot of these are leaving the US .. There is a running ad in one of the Boston Want Ads going on 4/5 years now, looking to buy 113s to ship back over..
I think there time has arrived...

I hope the cockpit pic was before and not after.[:0] Looks like a very nice restoration but the glove box is out of alignment and synthetic steering wheel cover tarnish this great looking car. Wouldn't have hurt to clean the inside up a bit before pics.
Doug, please explain your comment about the gaurds. As i do not have these on my car I am not sure what you are talking about.

The original sales statistics show that roughly half of the total production of the W113 was exported to the US. Many cars were subsequently exported from Europe (and other places probably) to the US. However I would guess that, on balance, the migration pattern is a net re-import from the US to Europe, by maybe a couple thousand cars.
I spoke recently with a major restorer of 300 SL's, Pagodas and 190 SL's, and their rough average of a total restoration is around Euro 90,000 ...
