Title: anyone got the part # for the front shock covers .

I do not believe that the front shock covers were original equipment on a '71. They were not original equipment on my '70.
Doesn't really answer your question though - sorry.

Post by: erickmarciano on October 06, 2004, 06:54:18: actualy I made a mistake I need the covers for the top of the front "subframe " in the engine bay . the covers are oval neer the shoxk mounts on the top

but your car did not have them.. they were eliminated at end of 250sl production..

Typo on above
Correction:
Part # should read
110 683 00 10..
Also, if adding these , they require 4 part# 001 988 44 78 mounting clips for securing to frame rails [2 per side]...

Post by: Mike Hughes on October 06, 2004, 17:24:05: At a recent M-B show one of the judges was actually making deductions for early cars that had the covers and late cars that didn't! When we pointed out that they had this backwards, it was decided that since all cars ended up receiving a deduction and cancelled each other out, all the relative rankings would have been the same so the scores would stand...

Lot's of goodies got dropped at the end of .043 production..
