I removed my carpets from my 1970 280sl in June, installed the dynomat floor insulation and covered the holes where the seat belts where bolted to the floor. My new carpets just came in and I just finished installing them, but have no idea where the bolt holes are located. Can someone please send me a picture of the holes are.
Thank You.
Ron.

Ron,
you lost me. Since you finished installing them you must have used the bolts, you didn't glue them in, or did you? ;) ???
Here are some photos: http://www.sl113.org/forums/index.php?topic=4912.msg31465#msg31465
and if you search you'll find more.

Thanks for your reply and picture. I have not installed the bolts which fasten the seat belts to the body. My 1970 does not have a ring like in the picture of your 1966. It has bolts which thread into a hole. I have all the bolts, but the holes are now covered with this Dynamat insulation which is glued to the body.

Your 280SL has three locations (holes) for the attachment of static 3-point seat belts.
1. On the tunnel - see photo
2. Behind the seats but NOT on the floor where the aftermarket ring in my photo is located but behind it on the wall - see red arrow in photo.
3. Up on the B-pillar - you need to remove the cover to see it but your leather/MBtex may already have a hole there.
If you want to install retractable seatbelts then you need to find a spot for the spool.
Search for "retractable seatbelts" and you'll get a lot of suggestions.

Here are two photos from my 1969 ... 280sl taken on the Passengier side of the car.
Alfred has a good picture of the one on the other side fastened to the tunnel, he also shows it in his photo 3 with out the carpet and in my photo 1 and 2 you see it with the carpet in the vertical wall behind the seat. If you poke around a bit in the area(s) you should find the holes. Don't mind the dog hair in the photo ... Reminds me to use a better vacuum cleaner before I get on the road for PUB 2015 :)
Hope this helps.
