Hey, I bought some new sparke plug wires for my 67 250sl and I can not figure out how to get them throught the sleeve. How do you unscrew these wires? Also how many wire go through the sleeve?
Thanks
Rich

The connectors should have a wood screw at the end that screws into the copper wire. Just turn the connector and unscrew.

If your wire set is meant for a later model without the sleeve, then the wires will to too short for use with the sleeve.
No need to tell you how I know this ::)

66andBlue, thanks, I was scared to just start twisting wires. Got it to work.
Naj, they fit. When I purched the car mine had a sleeve on it that went under the injector lines.
I took it out for a test drive and I swear it runs better. I am waiting on new plugs. i have w7dc in them now but ordered ngk bp5es as suggested on this fourm.
I also found out my gas guage (sender) does not work.

I use a little di-electric grease on the new rubber boots and wire ends so they screw together easily. You should have six straight spark plug connectors in your set. Some replacement sets use five straight connectors and one right angle connector. The right angle connector is used on carbureted car engines and is incorrect for the W113 injected engines. Also you are probably aware that the wires can be trimmed to correct size since the connectors are removable.

Also, check to see if the coil wire is carbon core - they often are. Change it to solid wire if it is. I re-use the terminal ends from the carbon coil wire.
