Post by: w113bkk on July 30, 2015, 23:43:12
How can I tell if my owner's manual is original and not a reprint? Are there certain tell tale signs?

thanks

Original manuals have color text and illustrations.  Reprints are black and white inside...

My 230sl manual has a few color illustration of the dash within the first few pages and the rest of the pictures seem to be in black and white or blue. The text is black and is blue in highlighted areas. Would this be an original?

The color illustrations at the front of the manual would indicate it is an original book. As you flip through the pages, there are various other images where there are multiple colors, some red arrows, a stop/go light illustration, etc. The print is blue and black. In the back where it shows the maintenance photos, those are all black and white.
