Those must be rare.  They're not even in our color code database.

If you're restoring, I vote that you go with those original colors.  Pretty interesting and attractive, I believe.

We are doing number 000064  230SL and it's copper metalic. Since this car was probably built during the first or second week of production, it was very likely a special order that was placed long before these cars were available at any dealership. I'm guessing that it was pre-bought by somone important because regular guys probably wouldn't have done something like order an odd colour like that. I'm told the car came from Colorado but that's all I know. Car is a four speed with power steering.

Artur,

Just in case you are not aware -  you can see the copper metallic colour in the Technical Manual under Paint Codes - you just cant see it combined with that specific hardtop colour. The hardtop colour is there separately.

Alfred, You are awesome !

Artur, That is a crazy - fantastic original combination and it would be a shame if you did not put the colors back to original ... of course, that is very easy for me to say.   ;)

If you go for it, I sure hope we get to see pictures.
That might be the most unique combo I've seen.
What do others think? Can you think of MORE unique combos? This might seem like a thread highjack, but in fact I am just trying to show Artur how unique it is.
Of course he might already know that. I'm glad he included the data plate picture !

Nice !

He Artur,
What is the interior color code?

I'm thinking you are going to have a hard time finding a picture of this exact exterior color combo.
Has anyone EVER seen this combo out in the "wild"?
