Title: Milestone(s)
Post by: 49er on May 25, 2015, 22:08:59
This month marked the 48th anniversary of my Pagoda ownership which started May 20 1967 when I drove home my now "departed" 250SL. Starting to feel like an old geezer :D

We took our 280SL out for a nice drive today and the weather was perfect. Another milestone was reached when the odometer turned over 75K miles all of which I can vouch for being original.

The 2nd photo taken while on our drive, shows the lake across from our home which a few Swans and Canada Geese call home. I had to pretty up the picture with my navigator and Pagoda in the foreground :)

We haven't been driving our 280SL much of late because of our frequent trips up to Seattle to see our Grandson who just turned 5 months old. It took a while but certainly worth the wait to become  "Grandpa and Grandma".

Will be taking the car down next week to Ernie's for the annual inspection / lubrication and a nice bath when it gets home.

You must be the longest Pagoda owner in the world!

I think the Group should organize something when you reach you 50th year ownership!

Nice shot of the Lake, Navigator and Pagoda.  Congrats on becoming a Grandpa!  Wishing you another 48 years of Pagoda driving.

Thanks for the nice comments, especially about my new role as grandpa:-). He will be coming to visit, along with his parents, in a few weeks, and I am looking forward to giving him a short top down drive up and down the driveway. He will, of course, be firmly held by his Dad.
As to being the longest owner I believe Jonny found a couple others that might beat me by a few years when he was doing his series on original owners. I don't plan on ever selling my car, so if I live long enough, which I do plan on doing, ::) i might get that title one of these years.
