Clarkson is on the wireless this morning sending off a bunch of people to the Monaco GP - charity thing that they pay a fortune for: classic car drive to Farnborough, private jet to Monaco and then the full works all weekend. Think they raise north of £500,000 for it (10 poeple)
Clarkson was not particularly nice about any of the cars except the Pagoda - "absolutely lovely - 280SL, well all of them, fantastic"
RR Corniche convertible - "like having warm honey poured in your ear but James May has one"
DB5 - "lovely but drives like a lorry"
Daimler dart/SP250 - "won't go round corners"
XKSS - "extremely pretty car"
For those in the UK it might be on iPlayer/Listen again - ~8.45 am/2.15 into the show
-
such words coming from Clarkson re: Pagoda sound like sanctifying our car.
Actually, his silence about any given car should be construed as a positive sign ;D
Having said that it will be a great weekend idea. I bet however that every forum member will feel even greater while driving his own Pagoda around the house that week

He was asked the best car he ever drove and you won't believe the answer. Actually, Guess
-
surprisingly the answer was a car that even Chris Evans hasn't driven!
For Clarkson and Evans to endorse the Pagoda as they did this morning will no doubt raise buyer awareness (and prices) unless the gear linkage fell off on the M25!

See if this link plays around the world? Go to about 2 hours and 13 minutes into the program. Very complimentary indeed.

I wonder if it's Evans own Pagoda
and/or if they are all his cars - he's got loads including a rather nice collection of prancing ponies

Thank you for posting! The link did indeed work here in the States.

If I recall correctly, he's had nice things to say about the Pagoda before this.
Still, it is music to my ears to have a Pagoda called the prettiest car Mercedes has ever made.
