I tried a full set and here was my experience.
When new , they were too stiff [ if you can believe that ]
After a couple of months , they were good. [ seemed to break in]
After a year , they were crap..

I tried a set of KYB's, too, for about a year/3,000 miles. I felt they were too stiff and replaced them.

KYB's have earned the nickname "Keep Your Bilsteins"...I've never liked them on any other, and wouldn't be willing to try putting them on the SL.
but Boges have been good to me, generally not as still as bilsteins.

Erick, I suggest you call 619-697-4369. They sell Bilsteins for $65 each.

I don't remember what color they are, but you are certainly welcome, as far as I am concerned, to paint them yellow!

There is one other shock that was not mentioned, Konis adjustable shocks. I can not vouch for them but I know they were originally on my car after its restoration. It seems that the previous owner swaped them out for bilsteins.
