I think this one requires a solid Pagoda knowledge just to make sure you get a complete car out of this pile of rusty stuff. But impressive it is indeed.
-
You definitely would need to have taken one apart to know where all the hardware goes...
-
Do you think his wife got up one morning and said 'do you think it's time you cleared the garage out?'
What a collection

I can't tell what he's selling. The tag line says 3x 280SL, 1 x 230sl. But the pictures show 4 shells inside, then two more outside. And when you read the text it sounds like he's selling one plus some collection of extra parts.
-
I agree that the text is a bit misleading but that looks like a very tempting haul! There's a ready made business right there!
If I wasn't short of space I think I'd make him an offer for everything he has!
-
It reminds me of my four car, four rooms of parts purchase back in 2010. But my cars were 95% assembled, not 95% disassembled. Regardless, it would be a fun project. It's the ultimate "bring a trailer".
-
I think he is planning to retire and finally decided to do a major cleanup LOL
I would not touch it with a 10 foot pole ... Who needs all those headaches and in the end not get one car together ...no thanks

I reckon the greed factor can be so addictive that once you have too much you would not know where to start and finish and then time is always a factor. It is good to have a couple of nice manageable examples to maintain the hobby. But for some the hobby can turn out to be business and then it helps if you have a trustworthy workforce to support the business and restore the cars to a high standard.

This is an interesting add. It says United States for location. That's broad. I'm curious where this stuff is because it would cost a fortune to ship.
-
It is in Florida. If you hit shipping quote in the add it gives a location sometimes...
-
Didn't sell, relisted at lower price.
